Impacting and improving student’s outcomes and mentor engagement by introducing a new and improved student progress tracking feature. Our goal was to reduce confusion amongst our students and boost completion rates while also improving our customer experience teams efficiency. Our hypothesis was that by providing mentors with this MVP, we would positively influence how mentors help their students, thus improving their completion of the UX Academy course.
We introduced a data-viz tracking feature with guided data-driven insights and mentor feedback.
Because of the nature of the complexities of the feature, we did a V1 release to our Mentor community first to test our feature before releasing to students.
When released to both of our user groups, the results we saw were remarkable.

Provide the necessary information and resources for a seamless journey and course experience to improve completion rates. Our biggest goal was to reduce early stage churn by 50% and what we accomplished was bigger than what we expected.
On-time Completion: 166% increase (from 6% to 16%)
Course Completion: 157% increase (from 6.1% to 15.7%)
Cancellation Rates: 62% decrease (from 7.8 to 3%)
What we did from start to finish and what solutions we provided to users.
Worked closely with cross-functional teams to help lead the process for mapping the student’s UXAF journey.
Collaborated on the identification of gaps in the early-stage retention and overall conversion rates.
Helped implement processes with design, growth, and program teams to have effective collaboration on the types of content to be displayed.
Led design and dev teams to drive forward our new pre-course experience, giving students early access to our platform in order to start interacting with materials before cohort launch date.
Led overall strategic onboarding strategy for a re-vamped experience based on user research & insights which included: reviewing welcome emails, in-platform guides, pre-course webinar decks, and cohort launch-day emails to ensure an engaging and comprehensive experience.
